Yaya moves to Hawaii

profit's child

Finally had a moment to start working on this piece again, and it is close to being done- a bit more work on the shadows and I am pau. Did the whole thing in watercolour, layer by layer. In the end it is worth it: I like the depth with translucency that only watercolour achieves on untreated wood. Profit holds a small child. It is unclear if the child  is protected or imprisoned, what the green beast’s intentions are. We teach our kids to trust, honour, respect and believe in profit, and by doing this willingly put our children in that monster’s embrace.

I am probably going to do small panels for a while as we are moving to Hawaii in two months and shipment is such an expense. Yep, Hawaii. No more winters and small town provinciality for me! I am very happy about this move.

This last week I spent helping an old friend film for a series of documentaries on wine in it’s historical/social/gastronomical/cultural context here in the area. It was a lot of fun an I learned a lot. The week ended with a huge wedding- Carlo’s beautiful stem cell researcher of a daughter tied the knot in a big perfect wedding. She was stunning.
