Kids Say the Darnedest Things
That’s the name of my current project. I started with stickers but am doing the three of them in wood as well. Here are the stickers:
and here is the first one in wood:
He’ll say “Occupation”, the girl says “No” as in the right to say no, make her own decisions, and the other 2 say “food” or maybe “distribution”- not sure which yet. Kids say the darnedest things cuz we like to portray them as cute and a little clueless, but so many kids deal with horrible realities, and this is what is on their minds.
As soon as I cut the writing in, and square and edge the piece, it will be up on yayadog.

Finally, in Hawaii, a Green Store Opens
This is really good news, guys! Finally, here in Hawaii we have a Green building material store that sells exclusively products that are Green Building Council and EPA, ISDA and Gold Leed Certified for the environment. They have paints, stains, finishes, eco-carpet, eco-flooring and more.
They open officially on Monday, but I went in today to buy finishes for my cabinet projects, and the friendly staff gave me all sorts of info as well as the specific product I was looking for.
One product I found fascinating is “EnerG Architectural “. Following is a short description pilfered from the company’s web site:
“EnerG H.R. Architecturaltmis a superior high performance heat reflective, thermal insulating exterior wall coating system. It is uniquely engineered to combine maximum solar reflectance and thermal insulative properties to achieve the best efficiency possible.
Optimum solar reflectance (up to 95%) is achieved by integrating true Infrared Reflective pigments. This allows solar reflectance across all color spectrums and is not limited to just white or light pastel colors. The emissive heat that passes through the topcoat is further diminished by the insulative primer. 15 degrees?? That is a lot!! Very expensive, and special order, but wow.
